Daniel Quigley is a fantasy author and Jar Jar Binks enthusiast who lives in Atlanta, Georgia with his beautiful wife, daughter, and far too many animals. When he's not writing stories about drunken swords, snarky zombies, cryptids, or electrical magicians (electricians, if you will), he can be found coaching soccer.
This was a quick read for me. The words flowed easily, and the plot moved along well. I especially liked that even though it was a chosen one trope, Zev had, and could use, his powers from the get-go. That was a refreshing change of pace, as was his age. It had many of the bits that make YAF (young adult fantasy) fun reads but with more mature characters, themes, and wit.
A fun read for fantasy lovers!
This book is a behemoth tome full of boy humor, pop culture references, one liners, unique magic systems, not your average gnomes, and slapstick violence. Seriously, this book is so so good!
In this anthology, talented writers retell the timeless tales of saviors from legend.
Remaining true to their origins, this collection features 14 reimagined sagas of courage, strength, ingenuity, and most importantly, hope.
You may know their stories…
But not told like this.
